Overview
You will use your SWOT analysis and goal setting, leadership development
plan, change management plan, position paper, and ‘Year in Review’ to
develop a strategic plan that will consider projected needs for the
organization for the next 3-5 years. Remember, strategic planning is the
process of documenting and establishing a direction of your institution /
organization by assessing both where you are and where you’re going. The
strategic plan gives you a place to record your mission, vision, and values,
as well as your long-term goals and the action, plans you’ll use to reach
them.

Your strategic plan will include the following

1. Information about your organization, including mission and vision
statements

2. Research to support all sections of your strategic plan
3. Goals developed from SWOT Analysis
4. Build Leadership using Leadership Development Plans
5. Create implementation and change management plans (also

called action plans) for specified goals
6. This should also include how you will evaluate your goals
7. Develop cultural competence within your institution / organization

8. How are you writing your plan to be inclusive to your community
9. How are you building cultural competence within your employees at

your institution / organization
10.Use ‘Year in Review’ to see where the institution / organization was

and where it is going
